Area Activities

Centrally located in Mecklenburg County, Boydton and nearby towns offer a variety of activities year round. As the closest town to Kerr Dam and the Corps of Engineers Campgrounds at North Bend Park and Rudds Creek, water recreational enthusiasts and lake residents are numerous. The annual Boydton Day Festival on the last Saturday of October with parade, fun run, crafts, and food is a 40 year tradition. The initial Christmas Parade in 2023 had over 50 entries including the church’s float with our youth portraying the nativity. A variety of sports and cultural events are held throughout the year at Mecklenburg County High School’s new performing arts auditorium and sports facilities, six minutes east of Boydton, along with recreational leagues for sports about 10 minutes west and about 20 minutes east of Boydton.
